About the event
What is it?
Showreels are your introduction to agents, casting directors and directors, you need them to share what you can do. Â A common problem a lot of actors face is that the footage on their showreels doesn't fully reflect their range or casting bracket. Â We've tackled that problem for you by creating a tailored showreel retreat. Â This retreat is designed to allow you to show your true range.
We've teamed up with filming professionals to give you exactly what you need to show all that you are. Your scenes are bespoke and written for you by our professional writer, Sam Brady. With our filming parter - Multi-Tool Media, you get a professionally lit, multi-camera experience. Your other retreat attendees act as scene partners meaning you get a full diverse cast of experienced actors and support. Plus, we can film utilising multiple locations: pubs, homes, countryside locations and more to give you high quality scenes to seamlessly blend in with the rest of your reel.  You also have a director and coach to give you objective and honest feedback and support in the development and blocking of your scenes.
Together we capture scenes that you just can't get alone.
How it works
A simple breakdown of the 5 days in North Wales...
Pre arrival: We'll meet 1-2 times on Zoom to explore casting brackets, get ahead of the process so we can get costumes together etc and decide on locations in advance.
Arrival evening: Set up the space and start connected
Day 1 & 2: We'll explore the format, co-create your scenes ready for filming by playing, exploring and developing your circumstances and characters both in and out of the studio so they're rich and deep in your body.
Day 3: Day to move slower, rest, walk, do location reccys and any further prep we need.
Day 4 & 5: Sound / camera checks with further scene development + on location filming.
What’s included
Accommodation, 2 days of fully equip multi-camera shooting, Steph for 5 days (coaching/training & directing), writer Sam Brady for bespoke circumstances and scenes and the final edit of 2 completed scenes! - all with the retreat experience.Â
How many scenes?  2 guaranteed scenes (though you may end up with more to choose from).
What makes this so special?
We are process driven. Even though we're creating something specific, over our 5 days together you will continue to be challenged as a human and an actor as we have a biiiig stretch of those acting muscles.  We’ll connect to our deep sense of self, we’ll continue to practise grounding and stability and what it is to be present because without it you won’t be a present and safe actor.  And it wouldn’t be one of our retreats if we didn’t get outside to deepen that learning so we’ll also head out into the wild for some fun too.
