What to expect

When you hold your breath you block the flow of life. You block your wisdom, your intuition, your creativity, your authenticity. This retreat will explore, through deep breath and body work, how you can remove blocks and find greater ease and confidence in your life and in performance.

We will work indoors and out, spend time in stillness and movement. Exploring, opening, making deep changes and learning practices which can be taken into everyday life.

All Barbara’s retreats are bespoke - working with the specific needs and interests of the group.

About Barbara

Barbara Houseman has worked in theatre for over forty years. After dividing her time between Directing and Voice Work, she spent six years in the world renowned Voice Department at the Royal Shakespeare Company, working alongside Cicely Berry and then became Associate Director at the Young Vic working on Grimm’s Tales & Comedy of Errors.

For the last 22 years she has worked freelance as a Voice, Text and Acting coach and Associate Director and Director. Among other private clients she coaches Daniel Radcliffe, Jude Law, Clive Owen and Jessie Buckley on various projects.
