I 100% recommend working with Both Feet... cue all the best adjectives. I have learnt so much about myself as an actor and as a person. Having those moments of realisation as you’re developing is fantastic - and I felt like so much was achieved, yet I know there is even more to discover and learn. I believe no matter where you are in your career as an actor that this will be beneficial! After working with Stephanie and Adam the passion they both have for this technique and work, is something that can only make you thrive and feel equally as passionate. They have created such a safe and giving environment for artists to discover more than you thought was possible. The depth of knowledge that Adam has to give on not only Meisner but the industry as a whole is a generous gift. And equally Steph’s experience and her ability to make you want to give so much because she does so beautifully, is never taken for granted one bit. You will not regret doing the intro course or the 6 day core course even if you end up deciding that the technique may not be for you, as I believe that you will discover something about yourself and craft regardless! Amazing technique, amazing teachers and an amazing environment. I look forward to taking the weekly technical classes and added workshops and implementing the technique into my work - exciting! Thank you Steph and Adam you are all the good things!! ~ Alyce Liburd, Actor
So here's the thing about Meisner training. You go to one class and you think it's weeeeeird/insane and you can't get your head round how the infamous 'repetition exercise' is supposed to make you a better actor. I mean, errr... WTF? That's how I felt after my first Sunday afternoon Meisner session. If my friend Tony hadn't told me it would all start to make sense the more classes I did, I think I'd have been freaked out by that first day and wouldn't have gone back. And I wouldn't have found out how much Meisner helps you to 'get over yourself' as an actor... how much it helps to 'unpick' your really naff 'actor habits' and learn to observe and respond rather than act... ~ Lesley Bruce, Actor and Voice Over Artist
Really fantastic... Steph tailored every class to the needs of the group and was a dedicated and thoughtful teacher. The class size meant that every individual got the support and tailored help that they needed to really advance in the class. It was also just bags of fun and such a lovely experience. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will be going back for more.

I have done beginners, intermediate and advance meisner techniques with Steph. She is an amazing teacher she has opened me up as an actor and probably as a person too. If you are thinking of training with her. Just do it!! You will reap the rewards.

Adam is a kind and generous practitioner with a great knowledge of the Meisner Technique - I would most certainly recommend attending if you're serious about being a genuine & truthful actor.

Adam Stadius' technique classes are inspirational. He has a wonderful way of conveying fairly complicated concepts and practices in an incredibly simple way. It's actually changed the way I think about approaching a character. Whether you are a student, just starting out, or have been in the business for several years, Adam's classes are perfect for anyone wanting to find a more truthful approach to acting. - Chris Coxon, Actor
My eyes had been opened to what truthful Acting is.

For a workshop that was only three days long the Meisner technique will stay with me for life.

Brought me back to life after a decade of glazing over in west end ensembles....Suddenly I can be creative again... So free and so fun.

I'm sure many actors can relate to those times when they're on stage and they become aware of themselves. That moment when you're in your head. When you know you've gone into 'acting mode' and you fight with yourself back to being in the moment to being present and listening and really responding to what's in front of you at that moment. Truthful, right? I'd heard about Meisner being 'that dude that does repetition' (I may have added the 'dude' bit). You'd be right to know repetition is a basis, a fundamental one at that, and the intro weekend focuses on this but working now at a level where I can see it translate in rehearsals, in script preparation, seeing how I can take it into my own prep regardless of whether the director I'm working with, or actors I'm working alongside use this method, I can still use it - stage or screen. And when you do use it - that 'in your head' stuff I was talking about before - wave a little wave goodbye to that. ~ Leanne Rowley, Actor
A great week of training. Nice to rediscover Meisner after two years away from it. It really emphasises and hones in on the importance of human interaction, and makes it a safe environment to feel the freedom to get out of your head. That safety also comes from Adam's brilliant teaching style - you never feel criticised or like you've done it wrong, even if your technique isn't perfect or you weren't completely in the moment. He makes it all about self-reflection as a tool to better yourself, but at the same time to realise most times your inner critic is irrelevant. I could wax lyrical, but, in short, if you're new to acting - try it. If you're new to Meisner - try it. If you're an old hat at it, it's always relevant. Get in the canoe and see where the river takes you. ~ Christopher Bamforth, Actor

As a working actor I find the Meisner Technique one of the most useful tools in the box. Taught so well by a patient, skillful and dedicated teacher like Stephanie it is easily absorbed and utilised. I can't recommend this technique highly enough. The work done by Steph is outstanding. If you've visited you know. If you haven't where the hell have you been!!!! ~ Bill Blackwood, Actor
Still tingling from the Intro course this weekend with Steph. The course breaks down your bulls**t and helps save you from yourself. I broke through so many unknown levels of self consciousness that have been blocking my work forever. ~ Catherine Traveller, Actor |
As a director and writer I've found the course very useful as a more specific approach to acting technique than just 'feeling it'. I am more convinced than ever about there being a gift of connection and also that people are losing it more and more. I think the exercises used for this acting technique break those walls. Finally I cannot speak highly enough of Adam who ran the courses. Kind, considerate and intelligent delivery throughout, great pieces chosen and all executed cleanly and with a soft energy which allowed an easy flow of communication between himself and the students.
