Headshots &
Showreels

NB Only available to actors in training with Both Feet
Picture
In partnership with:

This journey began because actors we knew well were heading off to get headshots and showreels done by people who didn't know them at all. This meant the photos and films just weren't representing them as powerfully as we thought they deserved.

Your headshots and showreels are your sales pitch, your first impression "on paper" (as it were) which means they need to be honest and simple yet still stand out in a crowded space (for the right reasons!).

Why jump in with us?

No First Date Nerves
We already know you! During your training with us, we get to know you, your castings, your default castings and your full range of possibilities which means we can push you to be simple yet bold and brave. You also already know you can trust the space and our process which is half the battle with headshots and showreels so we'll get to work efficiently seen as we won't be working against those First Date Nerves.

We're better together... because we know you do your best work when you feel safe and supported, everything we do, we do as a team. So instead of the photo shoot being done on your own, you'll be with other actors, probably ones you know. The showreels will be created as a collective, with you at the heart, of course with a simple format you'll already be familiar with.

Headshots - for £175 you will get...

Before
    ★ Preparation notes
    ★ Coaching on styling
During
★ 8 hours shared between up to 8 actors
★ Working as a group means everyone has time to change clothes and hair etc without all the pressure of most other shoots but most importantly the comradery lifts spirits, eases nerves, offers inspiration and raises the bar.
★ Steph coaching you throughout the day whilst James takes the pictures
★ Full professional lighting set up and a variety of backdrops options
★ Chance to review photos as you go along
    ★ Option for outdoor shots
After
★ Access to all your pictures with an easy format to choose your final ones
★ 5 edited included in the price
★ Only £15 for any extras
The perfect combination of Steph (acting coach) and James (photographer) worked wonders for me. Steph brings out your best, authentic self, so the pictures look like... you! James is a highly skilled and hard working photographer, I've been acting for 11 years and these headshots are my favourite! Already they have got me some great auditions, says it all! The way the day works is genius, allowing you enough time to try different looks and feel relaxed during the whole process. ~ Josie Cerise

Showreels

We're so excited to be offering bespoke showreel scenes! We do have two main differences to what you might be used to though...
1) We're process driven rather than results - it's all learning, Steph will continue coaching and training you to be present and open and ready.
2) We're working without scripts - hence the above point is even more important.

Price: £585 if booked before 20th Jan (£662 after)
Added extras:
Full showreel edit: £125
Extra scene edit (if we do more than 2): £50

Includes: Accommodation, an outdoor activity, 2 filmmakers and their cinematic cameras and equipment for 2 days, Steph for 4 days (coaching/training & directing), writer Sam Brady for bespoke circumstances and the final edit of 2 completed scenes! - all with the retreat experience.

Who’s it for?
This 6 night retreat is available for actors who are in training with us - you must be advanced in the Relationship's Exercise - talk to Steph to check you're ready.

How many scenes? 2 guaranteed scenes (though you'll probably end up with more to choose from).

What makes this so special?
Like we said, we are process driven. Even though we're creating something specific, over our 5 days together you will continue to be challenged as a human and an actor as we have a biiiig stretch of those acting muscles.

We’ll connect to our deep sense of self, we’ll continue to practise grounding and stability and what it is to be present because without it you won’t be a present and safe actor.

And it wouldn’t be one of our retreats if we didn’t get outside to deepen that learning so we’ll also head out into the wild for some fun.
My agent has said it’s the best work he’s ever seen from me and it’ll be a game changer. He was on the phone for about 40 minutes saying how fantastic all the scenes were, how realistic and how there was no effort involved. He said it was like before I was trying to act and now I just am. So… thank you!!

The showreel retreat gave me a new and exciting way of working in front of the camera. We went in with characters, and we came out with full stories which were truthful and raw. I didn’t want a showreel showing me “going through the motions” as an actor, I wanted one which could show what I am truly capable of, and this retreat has done that. Steph, as always, was a guiding force throughout. She helped us to create our characters and challenge them to the max in order to get the best work from us. As a bonus, North Wales is pretty beautiful filming location, it felt like we had the world at our fingertips!
~ Emily Chattle - Night Light Theatre, Rusticus Arts, Next Door But One
A simple breakdown of the 5 days in North Wales:
Arrival evening: Set up the space, go through casting brackets as a group which will be passed onto writer Sam Brady.
Day 1 & 2: We'll explore the format, co-create your scenes ready for filming by playing, exploring and developing your circumstances and characters both in and out of the studio so they're rich and deep in your body.
Day 3: Day to do location reccys and & do an organised activity so you can experience this beautiful part of the world.
Day 4 & 5: Sound / camera checks with further scene development + on location filming - we'll be filming on 2 cinema cameras & using lapel mics and/or boom

"Don't be an actor, be a human being"

~ Sanford Meisner

Let's know ourselves deeply so we can go to the extraordinary knowing we can effortlessly return.
